Donations would allow FPODA to provide a much needed variety of services:
- FPODA provides advocacy and case management services to put together a plan to meet the goals of a client. We promote and support education for the physically disabled and/or wheel-chair dependent individuals through tuition assistance (including payment of general fees, books/supplies, room and boarding costs), for individuals needing help to fill out application for entrance into a secular education and the paper work related to obtain entrance. We sponsor meetings and speakers to promote self help programs and informative community meetings to discuss issues to promote public awareness on issues to better service the disabled population.
- FPODA promotes and provides financial support for in-home and external nursing services (as dictated by a treatment plan approved by a federal, state or county governmental entity) for physically disabled and/or wheel-chair dependent individuals, when no funding is available for an individual to have attendant care coverage, especially when an individual would like to attend a function for entertainment purposes and/or an informative community service program.
- FPODA promotes and provides financial support to provide transportation assistance for physically disabled and/or wheel-chair dependent individuals, including, but not limited to, vehicle repair or modification, vehicle rental and/or purchase, or public transportation fare. This assistance is needed to ensure disabled individuals the ability to have reliable transportation to work and/or to education programs and to promote an independent and accessible life style.
- FPODA promotes and provides funding for medical equipment deemed necessary pursuant to a treatment plan approved by a federal, state or county governmental entity. Individuals who have met the cost cap on the insurance coverage and have experienced an emergency need for equipment replacement or repair, can obtain assistance with FPODA.
- FPODA would like to help as many individuals as possible and to meet that goal, a cost cap of five thousand dollars ($5,000.00) will be allocated out annually on behalf of individuals. Individuals may ask for needed assistance from FPODA as many times as necessary up to the financial commitment of five thousand dollars ($5,000.00) as funds are available. Funds will be distributed to organizations on behalf of the individual to provide the needed services. No funds will be allocated to individuals and a return of service and of equipment policy is implemented to ensure that funds are not misused. FPODA will function on a first come first serve basis without prejudice to any. We reserve the right to exceed the cost cap based on an individuals need when ones existence is in jeopardy. This decision to exceed the cost cap is by appeal only and a decision that is made by the board members.
